World Environment Day

The world is dying a slow death and we are responsible for it. Over population, over consumption of natural resources and our lack of any kind of respect towards the environment is at fault. According to studies, if we are to continue with our current consumption and production habits, we will need three planets to sustain our lives by the year 2050.

Hence, this World Environment Day, 5 June the theme is the interpersonal relationship between the well-being of humanity, the environment and economy, and the proper management of earth’s natural resources. If we want the environment and the earth to stay healthy and prosperous for a long time to come, we have to start acting responsibly towards it now. Otherwise, the already damaged ecosystem will take no time to tip over and become irreversibly affected. This World Environment Day, let’s not only talk about the issue or hold programs about it, let’s work towards saving it.

Monk Paper is an ardent supporter of environmental issues. As lokta paper manufacturers, we truly believe and live the fact that economy and livelihoods can thrive without harming nature in any way. Lokta papers aren’t called eco-friendly for nothing. They are made from shrubs and the process only requires them to be pruned. The point is that being environment-friendly is not impossible. It is a choice, which might take some adjusting to. Lives are at stake. Our planet is at stake. So, a little adjustment shouldn’t hurt.

For instance:
Switch to a cycle or electronic vehicle as your mode of commute
Opt to carry water from home rather than bottled water
Don’t largely depend on AC for heat and cold issues
Stop using plastics
Plant a tree
Aware people and kids about preserving the environment

Every bit helps. You can help make a difference.
